Master Bathroom Designs in 2017

DARK STAIN

Sheathed from dark-stained walnut with simple cabinetry, the master bathroom has the look of a rustic retreat in this Alabama home, designed by Susan Ferrier.

At a Palm Beach house, the master bathroom walls have been painted a custom watery blue. Homeowner Liza Pulitzer Calhoun chose the cast-iron claw-foot bathtub because it feels "so favorable."

"Kay Wanted a real woman's master bath with pretty things to look at," says designer T. Keller Donovan. He coated the walls in the Tootsie wallpaper of Thibaut and put Tommy Mitchell tole blossoms.

LIME GREEN

Ann Sacks Tiles stripe a California pool tub in floor to ceiling, giving a unified look to the space. The shower wall frosted only, to avoid breaking the joys up. "We love stripes, but we had never noticed them before in a wall tile. It is perky and different," Bonesteel states.

POPS OF PINK

This Virginia townhouse is a study in pink, thus a powder area's feminine curtain follows suit. Nina Campbell's geometric Ornella background tempers the colour.
